Doves Nest Farm Self Catering Holiday Accommodation


Doves Nest Farm is our family farm with 120 acres of land where we keep suckler cows and calves, beef cattle and pigs. We also have 60 acres of land at Staintondale where our herd of Limousine and Belgian Blue cows and calves spend the summer months. You can go and see these if you want and see the stunning views from the coastal paths nearby.
	We still have plenty of animals on the farm including young heifers waiting to go into the herd, and bulls being fattened for beef. These leave the farm weighing about 800 kgs.
We also have two rare breed gilts who have both just had piglets. They are Gloucester Old Spot x Oxford Sandy & Black. The piglets are all different colours: black, sandy, white with black spots and sandy with black spots. They are so cute!!

Set in the North Yorkshire Moors with splendid scenery, views stretching down to Whitby and out to the sea off Robin Hoods Bay. Situated near the main B1416 it is a peaceful location yet ideally placed for visiting seaside and tourist attractions on the north-east coast.

We have regular wildlife visitors to the fields and gardens including deers, foxes, badgers and pheasants and you will hear the dawn chorus, if you are an early riser!

We are a haven for bird-watching as guests enjoy access to approximately 10 acre of woodland which has no other public right of way.

We have two pairs of woodpeckers that visit the bird feeders daily and we now have a baby woodpecker (20 June 2009)!

We are close to the Coast to Coast walk and the Cleveland Way. With many shorter or circular walks also in the vicinity we are an ideal base for a walking holiday in this magnificent area.
